Some notes:
+ There are dozens of songs that you can choose to represent any relationship or friendship. I purposely chose songs that had acoustics (partly because I love acoustics, and partly because acoustic songs usually have the most beautiful lyrics). There are exceptions to this…but there isn’t any weird tampering of vocals or tracks.
+ Yes, I’m going to admit I threw in My Sweet Lord because it makes me infinitely happy, even though it is sort of depressing when you think about it. But I do think that in it’s own way (if you re-place Krishna – who George is really talking about – with Arthur) that it may work out.
+ Explanation of the Swan Lake Finale at the end (more than just the sound).
+ I also hated choosing lyrics when the whole song shows things perfectly. But I do think that certain snippets emphasize things.
+ I’ve never thought so seriously about a mix before. There were several songs that I was going to put on here but that I tossed because they didn’t sound (lyrics worked, sound didn’t) quite right. A lot of songs sounded right, but didn’t have the right lyrics.

Finale (Swan Lake) – Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky
The explanation: It really works (I think) if you’ve seen Swan Lake. Swan Lake is sort of wonderful in the fact that there are multiple possibilities for the endings. Sometimes it ends happily, and then sometimes it’s very depressing. So the potential options I’m giving are:
a. Odette becomes a human, marries the prince
b. The prince believes that Odile is really Odette. Odette stays a swan forever
c. The prince believes that Odile is really Odette. Odette commits suicide.
d. The prince realizes that Odile is not Odette, but not soon enough. They both commit suicide.
Interpret that in the world of Arthurian legend as you like. And yes, fudge it up just a little bit to get it to work. Obviously neither Merlin nor Arthur is a swan nor enchanted by an evil sorcerer.
